I entered 3 pieces of my most recent B&W work into a show at the Copley Society of Fine Art last week, 2 got accepted. A couple other kids from my school got in too. The show starts a week from today, Thursday April 8th, 5:30-7:30. It's on Newbury street right near the Copley stop. You should go and look at everyone's work, there's some good stuff up.
Life is pretty decent right now. Financial problems still exist obviously, aside from that things are good. I graduate in 3 months, I'm not really that nervous even. I haven't seen either of my best friends in awhile, I miss them both a ton right now. I got a camera I really wanted for $3 yesterday at Urban Renewal. Time to smoke and head off to work.

So yesterday my nephew was born. Wierd, this kinda makes me feel old. I'm printing a bunch right now for color, then I have to print b&w afterwards. So much work to do and so little time to do it in. I hate having 2 jobs and school fulltime, this is driving me insane. I've been working my ass off this semster and have almost nothing to show for it. My documentary final will be complete bullshit at this point, along with my experimental color final. My b&w final should look alright though. Ugh, I feel like shit, and I'm genuinely pisssed off right now. so how are all you doing?

I'm back in the Shire for the day today. Had to do some laundry, and shoot for my B&W homework, I have a dentist appointment tomorrow morning. Theses things weren't necessary, I came back to vote today. While driving through NH I was still stunned at the amount of pro Bush/Cheney signs, I'm not used to seeing those much, Boston is way Liberal, especially compared to NH. I'm usually one to dismiss voting in general thinking that my vote doesn't count(think of everyone that voted for Gore in 2000) but it felt really good, like I was accomplishing something. In Merrimack(for those of you who don't know) the voting is done in the auditorium of the local middle school, and I went around noonish when all the little kids were getting lunch. At one point 2 kids walked by me and one asked the other in the most innocent voice:"Can I have your soul?" As if the other kid's soul was a bag of chips or something, I'm not much a fan of little kids, but that was hilarious. I also saw this really cute old couple walking outside after they had voted, and they were both looking quite content and the old man was carrying a sign that read "Republicans Voting For Kerry" Well, I'm off to shoot my B&W homework, keep your fingers crossed that the great Geaorge W Bush gets 4 more years!!<<33dale

So it was one year ago yesterday that I moved to my house in Boston. Last summer was pretty whack, I hung out with my best friend about 5 times in 4 months. I worked a shitty job for about the last month of the summer. My car got toed the first night living here. And I had no bed for the first week here. But I did hang out with Mike a lot last summer, in his air conditioned room watching dvds. That was usually good time. Then school started in October, I remember going to get comics and subway every Wednesday with Mike after class, this needs to start happening again soon. There was a fistfight in my living room the day after halloween, 2 days after getting fired from my job for making jokes about heroin and saying one of the toys was racist(not in those exact words) Then winter. It was cold and it sucked. But I did get my book put together. Then spring comes along, someof my roommates get kicked out because of problems with the neighbors. I just finished my first year of school. I have a 6 week color class starting Monday. I hope this summer is much better than the last one. Our landlord sent us a letter telling us thatif we wanted to lease the house again the rent would go up, we'd lose the entire basement and the space where I park my car would be $100 a month. Basically he wants us gone. I'm tired of this and don't really have anyuthing of substance to say. So I'm gonna get going.<<33dave

So. Haven't done this in awhile. This is my last week of school for this semester, but I'm taking general color in the summer so I can have lab acess. This week is quite hectic, yesterday through this coming Friday are portfolio reviews for all the second year kids. It's absurdly stressful for them and there's a really tense feeling in this building right now. I finished my vp final last night, and today I plan to finish up my color final. After this week I need to get my car fixed and take some time off to relax. I also begin working at the studio again this summer, I took some time off for school, I can't wait to get back there. I plan to finish my book this summer too, once it's full I plan to get it published, hopefully I don't slack off. Well, off to a meeting with the faculty. Later kids<<33dave

My weekend wasn't too bad. Thursday I went to Lowell. Friday night I went back to NH. Then Saturday my sister and I played Dr.Mario64 and it was superb. Then I went to rock and roll day celebration, which was fun. Breakin is the fucking ill movie. Yesterday was just kind of chill, Risa helped us clean the house, she's fucking awesome. And today I went shooting. I got some OK stuff. I got shit from a state trooper at one point. It's a semi long story that is pretty boring, but this was the type of guy that got his ass kicked day in and day out until he became a cop. He yelled a lot, I wish I could have taken pictures of him while he was accosting me for having a headlight and taillight out. I got a ticket that consits of 2 warnings and 2 $35 fines. Pretty lame, but hasn't put me in a real bad mood or anything. Doing crossword puzzles is the shit. Oh yea, I got my grades today: B in Alternative Design, A- in Large Format with positive comments from the teacher, and an A in small format with positive comments from the teacher. So that's the spotlight I found in the dumpster. It had a broken switch and needed a new bulb. I went to pick up these items today at Barbizon Lighting in Woburn, I also bought a roll of Gaffer's Tape and a roll of electrical tape(both on sale, the total for both was $3) and I spent $15 and change. So a bulb and a new switch cost $12 and change, probably less because of the sales tax. If you look on the site the list price for this light is $295. I can't get over how rad that is, and it works great, I'm psyched. Later I'm going to Lowell and staying until tomorrow night or even Saturday morning, then off to NH. School starts next week. And there's a Fantomas show on April 6th at Axis, Mike Patton again so soon?! I'm excited.<<33dave

So I finished my small format Friday morning at 9:30, class was at 10. For the final project, if you didn't already know, was a scrapbook of band photography I've done, with pictures dating back to 2002. I worked hard on it, it has 28 bands/artists to make a total of 78 photos. Only half the pages are full so I plan to continue working on it until it's full. Maybe then even try to find someone to publish it? That'd be cool. My weekend is pretty good so far. I was visited last night by Liz and Steve, always a good thing. We got vegan pizza from across the street which wasn't too bad at all. I got some sleep to top it all off. I came back to NH to do laundry, then Liz and I went to see Pretty Faces. When in Costa Rica she got me cigars as a gift, how cool is that? Tehn I read that Bob D is moving back to Boston, I love when great people move to Boston, it makes it seem that much better to live in. This week I plan to print some more band stuff I've been meaning to get done, and also to get another job on Monday. Hopefully the week goes well.<<33dave

Ok so I need to shoot my small format final. I have 3 weeks to shoot and print and get it all done. I'm doing live band shots(big surprise) and need to shoot shows within the next 3 weeks. My idea is to blow up probably 2 images to 16x20, and then print the rest(upwards of 20 prints) at 4x5, all the 4x5's will be a scrapbook dealy and the 2 big prints will be above it on whatever wall my stuff goes on. I'll be putting old prints in there but I need to shoot shows, so if anybody knows of any good shows within the next 3 weeks let me know.<<33dave

I had the most chill weekend. Liz came to hangout yesterday which was rad. Today after she left I slept until 2, then watched PI and ate my orange. I then came to shcool to print some band stuff and whatnot. I love not feeling stfressed or pressured to get shit done. I hope the feeling lasts for awhile. Here's a quick update
-Earlier I turned bad negatives into a good print
-I went to court last week, the decision came in the mail today, it was in my favor so she has thirty days to pay me over fifteen-hundred dollars, sweet.
-Comics on Wednesday
-Party at my house on Saturday was good, it ended in a huge fist fight in my living room though, yea, real cool, at least a got a punch or two in.
-I'm soon going to develop some B&W film that has some self portraits I did while in my costume. I still need to finish off the color roll, those should be posted soon.
-I miss a few people, so I should get in touch with them soon.
-Going to New York this weekend with some kids from school, just to chill and shoot and stuff.
-I almost want to start sending letters and mixtapes and prints and stuff to people, but I'm not sure if anyone would be interested at all.
-I may get a job at a hotel I applied to a couple months ago, I have a friend that works there whom is willing to help me out.
-With that said I realize I have some amazing fucking friends, it almost makes me not want to hate so many people.
-I should get my shit together soon, get ready to see a whole lot of shit...
